CVORReady on the Geotab Marketplace: What the Integration Does

CVORReady is listed on the Geotab Marketplace in the Compliance category. This article explains what the live integration syncs into your CVORReady account, what it does not pull, and how to get started if your fleet runs on Geotab.

The Listing

CVORReady is available on the Geotab Marketplace under the Compliance category. The listing is intended for Ontario commercial carriers who use Geotab telematics and want to connect their operational data to a dedicated CVOR compliance platform — without re-entering information they already have in their Geotab account.

The integration is live, meaning it is in production use. Carriers who connect through the Marketplace or directly through CVORReady get the same integration.

What the Integration Syncs

The CVORReady integration with Geotab syncs three categories of data from your Geotab database into your CVORReady account:

  • Driver records. Driver profiles from your Geotab account are pulled into CVORReady and matched to drivers in your compliance file. This keeps the driver roster in sync without manual duplication.
  • Vehicle records. Vehicle data is synced so CVORReady has visibility into your active fleet for maintenance tracking and DVIR monitoring purposes.
  • HOS events. Hours of Service events recorded in Geotab are brought into CVORReady directly and appear in your account alongside your driver and vehicle records.

Synchronization runs on a schedule. When Geotab data changes — a new driver is added, a vehicle is retired, an HOS event is logged — CVORReady reflects that update automatically without requiring a manual import.

What the Integration Does Not Pull

This is where confusion most commonly arises: the CVORReady integration with Geotab does not pull roadside inspection data.

Roadside inspection outcomes — events recorded when an enforcement officer inspects your vehicle or driver at roadside — are not Geotab data. They originate with MTO enforcement and appear on a carrier's CVOR abstract, which is maintained by the Ministry. The CVORReady–Geotab integration does not include that data — which is why reviewing the CVOR abstract remains part of compliance work even with telematics connected.

The integration is a feed of your operational data — the records your fleet generates — not a feed of Ministry enforcement data. That distinction matters for carriers trying to understand what is automated and what still requires active monitoring of the CVOR abstract.

How the Two Systems Fit Together

Geotab tracks your fleet's operations. CVORReady applies Ontario CVOR compliance logic to what Geotab records. The two systems serve different purposes and are better together than either is alone.

A Geotab-equipped carrier without a compliance layer sees their HOS data, driver activity, and vehicle status — but not how those records translate into CVOR risk. An HOS violation logged in Geotab is a data point; understanding its weight in the CVOR scoring methodology and how it fits into the rolling scoring window is a compliance question, not a telematics question. CVORReady handles that layer.

The integration means the data flows automatically into CVORReady. The compliance assessment — scoring, risk flagging, action item surfacing — then runs on top of that data using Ontario-specific methodology, not vendor schemas.

How to Get Started

Carriers interested in connecting CVORReady to their Geotab account have two starting points: view the listing on the Geotab Marketplace in the Compliance category, or contact us directly through this site. Either path leads to the same onboarding process.

Once a CVORReady account is active, connecting the Geotab integration is handled in account settings. The connection requires your MyGeotab database credentials and is managed within your CVORReady account settings.

If you have questions about fit before committing to a setup, reach out through the contact page — we can walk through what the integration covers for your specific fleet and data setup before you start.

Geotab is the live integration for driver records, vehicle records, and HOS data. Samsara and Motive connections are in beta — contact us to enable beta access. ISAAC Instruments is on the roadmap. Carriers not using any of these can use CVORReady through manual entry and CSV import.
